2 And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.
3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
Habakkuk 2:2,3 KJV
This year marks the 40th anniversary of my salvation.
Since that time I’ve seen my husband saved, my children saved, my friends and neighbours saved upwards to 135 people who were presented with the Gospel of Christ, who had the opportunity to become part of the family of God.
Each one of us is given this precious gift…the opportunity to be saved.
With that gift comes the opportunity to share that salvation with those we love, encouraging them to seek the Lord, embracing his great love and provision for each and everyone of us.
Becoming who we were meant to be is a process of growth and surrender and Bro. Mitch McQuinn taught an incredible lesson on this called…
Ephesians: Become What you Believe
If you haven’t seen this please take the time to watch it now, enter in to it and apply the principles to your life.
Knowing who you are in Christ, knowing the love he has for you, knowing the plans he has for your life – will bring great peace. When we follow the plan the Lord has for each of us on this life, it will bring about the greatest fulfillment in your life; greater than your marriage, greater than your family, much greater than your career, and greater than all your hobbies and interests.
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Jeremiah 29:11 NIV
Knowing who you are in Christ will make all of those areas have much more meaning as well.
So, one of the first tasks a new Christian must engage in… is to find God’s will for your life.
Many times people have a real odd sense of what the will of the Lord is – mainly because they don’t understand or know the Lord. It is important to note the Lord only wants what is best for each of us.
Satan will try to fill our minds with many thoughts that are untruth and try to create obstacles in our minds that we have to overcome.
Knowing the truths written below will help you to combat the lies and obstacles Satan tries to put in your path.
1) The Lord because of his foreknowledge knew you would be saved.
2) The Lord therefore knowing that you would be saved, has built into you the gifting’s you need to accomplish his will in your life.
3) God’s perfect will for you, will bring great peace, comfort and enough challenge to keep you motivated and going forward.
4) Finding out your gifting’s is a powerful exercise.
5) It is the joy of the Lord to bring you to a place of success and fulfillment.
Many of us, because we have believed the lies of the enemy, no longer know ourselves and no longer know what we are capable of. In agreeing with Satan’s lies about who we are, we have unknowingly been taken captive by him.
20 Now in a large house there are not only [b]vessels and objects of gold and silver, but also vessels and objects of wood and of earthenware, and some are for honorable (noble, good) use and some for dishonorable (ignoble, common). 21 Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from these things [which are dishonorable—disobedient, sinful], he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified [set apart for a special purpose and], useful to the Master, prepared for every good work. 22 Run away from youthful lusts—pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace with those [believers] who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 23 But have nothing to do with foolish and ignorant speculations [useless disputes over unedifying, stupid controversies], since you know that they produce strife and give birth to quarrels. 24 The servant of the Lord must not participate in quarrels, but must be kind to everyone [even-tempered, preserving peace, and he must be], skilled in teaching, patient and tolerant when wronged. 25 He must correct those who are in opposition with courtesy and gentleness in the hope that God may grant that they will repent and be led to the knowledge of the truth [accurately understanding and welcoming it], 26 and that they may come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will.
2 Timothy 2;20-26 Amplified Bible
So… knowing Gods will for your life is paramount to being free from these demonic lies.
Freedom from wrong thinking will keep you in a place of victory, able to be of service to the king to be ready and able to do every good work.
Deciding to pursue the Lord’s will for your life involves looking at some areas of service.
A while back i was asked if a person should pray about these, my answer surprised them because I said no – where we have a commandment – prayer is not needed to decide if it is God’s will for your life or not.
Obedience to the the commandment is what is needed.
You may feel the need to pray about the how’s or other situations that arise but the overall truth or will of God concerning these areas of your life will always will be – obedience first.
Lets look closer at some specific topics about what is God’s will:
-
Love – It is always Gods will. for you to love him and love others.
37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
Matthew 22:36-40 New International Version
2. Attendance – it is always God’s will for you to be in the house of the Lord during service times.
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.Hebrews 10:25 King James Version
3. Giving – It is always God’s will to give to the work of the Lord and give to the people of God.
Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
Luke 6;38 KJV
4. Studying – It is always Gods will for you to read the Word and study the Word.
5. Witnessing – It is always God’s will for you to share your testimony and the Gospel with others.
6. Victory – It is always God will for you to be victorious over your own fleshly desires, Satan and the world.
Those six basic principles are basic to all Christians, but there is a place where each of us has a ministry, something that we do well something that the Lord wants us to do specifically – something that if we don’t do it – we begin to feel uncomfortable and just not right…but we don’t know why.
Seeking the Lord’s will or plan for your life is the most important thing you will ever do, seek it, find it, plan for it, execute it and celebrate it.
When I look back at my life I see the vision made very clear to me even before my precious husband was saved..
The Vision – to answer the call to the ministry for both myself and my husband.
The Plan Involved – Prayer, fasting, training, home schooling – waiting and learning – working for the Lord during that time helping other home missionaries, evangelizing, saving the Lost
The Execution – when the way was made clear- we acted – we moved to Saskatchewan, quickly took our minitrial practicum and field training – and opened up three churches.
We Celebrated – we celebrated the vision at each baptism, as each person who was filled with the Holy Ghost, we celebrated at every salvation, and at the ultimate Celebration of Life for my husband.
But… the vision is not yet complete…the Lord is not finished with us yet…we all have a place in the great vision of Jesus Christ!
It is important that each of us find our own vision and become part of the vision to find God’s will and plan for our lives and follow the steps for success!
So take some time – seek the Lord and write the vision and make it real in your life.
