Knowing who you are in Christ
David’s perception.
2 Sam 5:1 Then came all the tribes of Israel to David unto Hebron, and spake, saying, Behold, we are thy bone and thy flesh. 2Also in time past, when Saul was king over us, thou wast he that leddest out and broughtest in Israel: and the LORD said to thee, Thou shalt feed my people Israel, and thou shalt be a captain over Israel. 3So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and king David made a league with them in Hebron before the LORD: and they anointed David king over Israel. 4 David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years. 5In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months: and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years over all Israel and Judah.
And David perceived that the LORD had established him king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom for his people Israel’s sake.
John Greets the Seven Churches
Rev.1:4 John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne; 5And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, 6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. 7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.
8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
When we made the choice to become saints of God through repentance, water baptism in the name of Jesus and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, we stepped from Satan’s kingdoms here on earth into the Kingdom of Christ. That choice set in motion a series of spiritual and physical events that changed our spiritual social status – we have been adopted by a king and therefore became heirs and joint heirs with Christ
Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. 15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. 16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
A powerful change has come to us, no linger are we outcasts and the drudge of the earth but we became the children of God and joint heirs with Christ – with powerful destiny to become actual Kings and Priests as John mentioned.
Now in line to rule and reign with him, we became the child of the king, saved from this world, delivered from Satan, and now we need to bring the flesh into submission.
Coming to grips with who you are can take time, it takes perception and a willingness to go into training to become a great leader.
Leadership – each one of leads people now whether we acknowledge it or not, all of us are leading people towards Christ or away from Christ.
Training – each one of us is in training for a powerful leadership position when Christ returns- so we either accept this training and work with the Spirit to become the leaders the Lord can trust and give great responsibility to, or we neglect that role and live our lives unto ourselves and lose the opportunity to become what the Lord has given to us.
Self discipline – is one of the most difficult parts of training – Satan will try to distract you, oppress you, deceive you, the world will call unto you with the call of fame and riches and a false rest and counterfeit of the rest in Christ and our flesh will fight at any cost to be brought under the power of the Spirit of Christ.
2 Timothy 2:4-6 4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.5 And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.6 The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits.
There are things in the Word of God that the Lord desires of Kings and priests they include:
Proverbs 16:12
It is an abomination for kings to commit wicked acts,
For a throne is established on righteousness.
Proverbs 20:28
Loyalty and truth preserve the king,
And he upholds his throne by righteousness.
Proverbs 29:4
The king gives stability to the land by justice,
But a man who takes bribes overthrows it.
Deuteronomy 17:15 Thou shalt in any wise set him king over thee, whom the LORD thy God shall choose: one from among thy brethren shalt thou set king over thee: thou mayest not set a stranger over thee, which is not thy brother.16 But he shall not multiply horses to himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt, to the end that he should multiply horses: forasmuch as the LORD hath said unto you, Ye shall henceforth return no more that way. 17 Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.18 And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the Levites:19 And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the LORD his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them: 20 That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of Israel.
To begin your training as a King – start with the Torah and write out the 613 laws.
Using the New Testament as a reference ask yourself these questions:
-
Which laws do or do not transfer from the Old to the New Testament? i.e. circumcision
-
How did the law changed, develop or be made clearer in the New Testament i.e. circumcision to water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ. Col. 2:11,12
-
Which laws are specific to the nation of Israel, and worship within the temple?
-
What moral laws do we continue to observe in New Testament times?
-
What was the purpose and heart of the law given?

Training to become a king – takes time, diligence and a willing to learn for a life time, but the end result is you will earn the trust of the Lord – you will understand his heart, what pleases him and how much he truly cares for his children.
The Law shows the Lord’s opinion on many topics, and he has written the law on our hearts through the Holy Ghost.
Romans 2:13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified. 14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: 15 Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;) 16 In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.
